Symptoms
- A recording does not start or stop when you long-press the center of the device.
- You feel a vibration but the red light does not turn on, or the red light stays on after you try to stop.
Since firmware version V179, Plaud NotePin uses optimized record-button logic to reduce accidental touches. Follow the steps below for correct operation.
Steps
- Check the battery status by picking up or shaking the device:
- White light on: battery is sufficient.
- Purple light flashing: battery is low, charge soon.
- No light: battery is drained, charge immediately.
- To start a recording, long-press the center of the device with a little force. You feel a gentle vibration, then one strong vibration, and the red light turns on. Recording has started. If you feel a vibration but no red light, the recording has not started, so long-press again.
- To stop a recording, long-press the center of the device with a little force again. You feel a gentle vibration, then two strong vibrations, and the red light turns off. Recording has ended. If the red light stays on, the recording is still in progress, so long-press again until you feel two strong vibrations.
If the issue persists
If you still have trouble after following the steps above:
- Update the Plaud NotePin firmware to the latest version.
- While the device is charging, long-press the record button for 12 seconds to reset it.
