Delete a recording to move it to the trash, then permanently remove it from the trash when you no longer need it.
What is deleting audio?
Deleting a recording in the Plaud App moves it to the trash first. Files in the trash are recoverable until you delete them permanently. This gives you a chance to restore a recording you removed by mistake.
How to delete a recording?
- Find the recording you want to delete.
- Swipe left to show the Delete option.
- Tap Delete to move the file to the trash.
How to permanently delete a recording?
- Tap the down arrow icon at the top of the Files page.
- Tap Trash.
- Select the file you want to remove and tap Delete at the bottom.
FAQ about deleting audio
Can I recover a recording after I delete it?
Yes, as long as it is still in the trash. Open Trash from the Files page, select the recording, and restore it. Once you delete a file permanently from the trash, it cannot be recovered.
Does deleting a recording free up storage?
Moving a recording to the trash does not free up your storage. To free up space, delete the file permanently from the trash.
Can I recover a permanently deleted recording if cloud sync is off?
No. Without Private Cloud Sync, the recording exists only in the app and has no cloud backup. Once permanently deleted, it cannot be recovered. Turn on Private Cloud Sync before deleting if you may need the file later.
