Export lets you save your recordings, transcripts, summaries, and mind maps as files you can use outside of Plaud. Each content type supports multiple formats — choose based on how you plan to use the file.
What is Export?
Export is Plaud's tool for saving your content as files that work outside the Plaud App. Each piece of content — your audio recording, the transcript, the AI summary, and the mind map — can be exported in one or more formats so you can use it elsewhere: share it with people who don't use Plaud, archive it on your computer, open transcripts and summaries in Microsoft Word or Google Docs, or import audio into audio or video editing software.
How to export on Plaud App?
- Open the file you want to export.
- Tap the icon in the top-right corner.
- Under Export as file, choose the content type: transcript, summary, mind map, or audio.
- Select the file format.
- For transcript exports, choose whether to include timestamps and speaker labels.
- Tap Export.
What formats can I export?
Different content types support different formats. See the table below:
| Content type | Supported formats |
|---|---|
| Audio | MP3, WAV |
| Transcript | TXT, SRT, DOCX, PDF |
| Summary | TXT, Markdown, DOCX, PDF |
| Mind map | PNG, Markdown |

FAQ about export formats
Can I include timestamps and speaker labels in my export?
Yes. When you choose Transcript as the export type, you can toggle timestamps and speaker labels on or off before downloading.
What is the difference between TXT and SRT?
TXT exports the transcript as plain text with no time markers. SRT is a subtitle format that includes timestamps — useful for adding captions to videos or for use in subtitle/captioning tools.
Can I export the mind map as an editable file?
Mind maps export as PNG (image) or Markdown (text outline). Neither format reopens as an editable mind map — they are for sharing or reference only.
Can I export audio in WAV format?
Yes. WAV export is available on Plaud App. Plaud Web supports MP3 only.
Is there a file size limit for exports?
There is no documented file size limit. Very long recordings may produce large files — if you experience issues, try exporting content in shorter segments.
