Plaud Note supports two recording modes, Note Recording for in-person audio and Phone Call Recording for calls, controlled by the slider on the Record button.
What is recording on Plaud Note?
Plaud Note captures audio through 2 MEMS microphones and 1 VPU. It picks up audio from up to 3 m (9.84 ft) away. A physical slider on the Record button lets you choose between Note Recording mode for in-person conversations and Phone Call Recording mode for phone calls. Recordings are stored on the device and synced to the Plaud App when you transfer files.
Before you start
- Your Plaud Note firmware and Plaud App are updated to the latest version.
- Your device has enough battery to cover the session you plan to record.
- Confirm the slider is in the correct position before you begin recording.
How to start a note recording?
- Toggle the slider down to Note Recording mode.
- Long-press the Record button for 1 second until you feel one vibration. Recording has started.
- Long-press the Record button for 1 second until you feel two vibrations. Recording has stopped.
How to start a phone call recording?
- Toggle the slider up to Phone Call Recording mode.
- Long-press the Record button for 1 second until you feel one vibration. Recording has started.

FAQ about recording on Plaud Note
What happens if the slider is in the wrong mode when I start recording?
The recording starts in whichever mode the slider is set to. Stop the current recording, toggle the slider to the correct position, and start a new recording.
Why didn't my highlight register?
Short-press the Record button instead of holding it. A long-press stops the recording rather than adding a highlight.
Can I record both a phone call and an in-person conversation in the same file?
No. Each recording uses one mode. Start separate recordings for each type of session.
