Unbinding removes your device from your Plaud account. The steps are the same for all Plaud devices.
What is unbinding a device?
Unbinding removes a Plaud device from your account. Once you unbind, the device is no longer linked to your account. Any recordings on the device that have not been synced to the Plaud App will be permanently deleted. Recordings already synced to your account remain accessible in the Plaud App. You can bind the device to the same account or a different one afterward.
Before you start
You can unbind your device whether or not it's currently connected to the Plaud App. The steps differ slightly depending on the device's connection status.
- Confirm that your recordings have been transferred to the Plaud App. Recordings not yet synced will be permanently deleted when you unbind.
How to unbind your device?
If the device is currently connected to the Plaud App:
- Open the Plaud App and tap the top-left icon to select the device you want to unbind.
- Tap Disconnect or remove device at the bottom.
- Tap Erase & remove to confirm.
If the device is not connected to the Plaud App:
- Open the Plaud App and tap the top-left icon to select the device you want to unbind.
- Tap Remove device at the bottom.
- Tap Erase & remove to confirm.
Tapping Erase & remove permanently deletes any recordings on the device that have not been synced to the Plaud App. Recordings already synced to your account are not affected.
