Symptoms
The recorded audio is too quiet, or you can't hear the other person clearly. The steps below differ for Note recordings and phone call recordings.
Steps
Note recording
- Update the Plaud App and your device firmware to the latest version.
- Check whether the problem persists even when you stay close to Plaud Note during recording.
- Remove the Magnetic Case and try again.
- Avoid blocked placement — don't leave the device in a pocket, bag, or wallet while recording.
- Turn off AI Speech Enhancement and test again.
- Turn up the Microphone gain (to 28 or higher) in device setting and try another recording.
Phone call recording
- Check whether you were wearing earphones. Plaud Note captures sound through the phone's speaker, so it can't pick up voice when you use earphones or headphones of any kind, wired or wireless.
- Make sure you enable Phone Call recording mode before recording.
- When recording a phone call, the Plaud Note needs to be attached to the back of your phone. Please refrain from dragging or tapping the Plaud Note during the call to prevent noise.
- Turn off AI Speech Enhancement and test again.
- Adjust the V.C.S. gain to Medium or High before your next phone call recording to see whether it improves.
- Turn up the volume of your handset to the max.
- Remove the phone case and try again. A thick case can affect audio pickup.
- Try another phone.
