Symptoms
- Recorded audio is quieter than expected.
- Voices sound muffled, distant, or unclear on playback.
- Phone-call recordings are hard to hear.
Steps to try
Before you start
- Confirm the recording type: Note recording or Phone Call recording.
- In the app, enable AI Speech Enhancement → Clarify voice, then test again.
- Reduce background noise: avoid windy/outdoor areas, loud music, and crowded places during testing.
- Make sure nothing blocks the device: remove any cover or object that may block the microphone area.
For Note recording
- Distance check: record within 0.5–1 meter of the speaker for the test.
- Orientation/handling: keep the device steady and avoid rubbing it against clothing or surfaces.
- If the voice is still quiet, try recording in a quieter room and test again.
For phone-call recording
- Earphones check: if you were using Bluetooth earphones, please remove them and retry. (Plaud Note Pro currently does not support capturing call audio from Bluetooth earphones.)
-
Correct placement: attach Plaud Note Pro firmly to the back of your phone during the call.
- Avoid contact noise: do not tap, drag, or move the device while recording to prevent scratching/clicking sounds.
- Call volume: set your phone call volume to at least 80% (loudspeaker mode is not required).
- Remove phone case: if your case is thick, remove it and try again (thick cases may reduce audio pickup).
- Update firmware: follow How do I update the firmware for my Plaud Note Pro? to install the latest firmware.
- Try another phone: if possible, test on a different phone to determine whether the issue is phone-specific.
