Use Custom Vocabulary
Add Custom Vocabulary so transcription can better recognize names, acronyms, and industry terms—this is usually the quickest way to make results more "work-ready."
How to set it up
- Open the Plaud App and go to the transcription/AI feature area (e.g., Settings / AI Tools).
- Select Custom Vocabulary.
- Add your terms (one per line) and Save.
- Record again and transcribe, or re-run transcription if your workflow supports it.
What to add (best practices)
- Names: full names + common variants (e.g., "Katherine / Kate").
- Acronyms: add both the acronym and the expanded form (e.g., "SLA" and "service level agreement").
- Jargon/product terms: exact spellings used in your org, including capitalization if important.
If accuracy is still low
Custom Vocabulary helps, but noise, distance, and overlapping speech can still hurt results—keep the device close, avoid covering the mic, and reduce cross-talk when possible.
