Symptoms
- The Plaud App cannot find or pair with your Plaud NotePin S
- The device disconnects from the app or fails to reconnect
Common causes include a low battery, missing Bluetooth or Location permissions, Bluetooth turned off on the phone, or the device being too far away.
Steps
Check before you connect

Check the battery status (press the Record button and watch the indicator light):
- Solid white light: battery is sufficient
- Flashing purple light: low battery
- No light: battery drained
- Keep the device close to your phone.
Connect for the first time

Allow permissions for the Plaud App.
- iOS: Settings → Apps → Plaud → enable Bluetooth
- Android: Settings → Apps → Plaud → enable Bluetooth and Location permissions
- Make sure Bluetooth is on on your phone.
- On Android 12 and earlier, turn on your phone's system location service. Bluetooth scanning won't work without it.
- If the battery is low, charge the device for at least 15 minutes before trying again.
- Update the Plaud App to the latest version.
- Try connecting again in the Plaud App.
- Reset the device: press and hold the Record button for 12 seconds.
- If it still won't connect, restart your phone and try again.
Reconnect a device you have used before
- Confirm the device has sufficient battery.
- Toggle your phone's Bluetooth off and on.
- Update the Plaud App to the latest version.
- Restart your phone.
- Reset the device: press and hold the Record button for 12 seconds.
