Private Cloud Sync keeps your recordings, transcripts, and summaries synchronized across Plaud App, Plaud Web, and Plaud Desktop. Manage your cloud storage directly from the app.
What is Private Cloud Sync?
Private Cloud Sync is Plaud's built-in cloud sync service. When enabled, your recordings, transcripts, and summaries automatically upload to cloud, where they stay accessible from any signed-in device. Cloud storage is unlimited and included with all activated Plaud accounts.
Before you start
- Sign in to your Plaud account.
- Sync requires an active internet connection.
- Plaud provides unlimited cloud storage for activated accounts. You can also view usage in Manage storage.
How to enable or disable Private Cloud Sync?
- Open Preferences using either of these methods:
- From the widget: Right-click the widget → Settings
- From the main Plaud Desktop window: Open Preferences (or Settings) from the app menu
- From the widget: Right-click the widget → Settings
- Click Private Cloud Sync
- Toggle Private Cloud Sync:
- On to upload/sync recordings
- Off to keep recordings local
Note: Recordings already uploaded to the cloud are not affected when you turn off Private Cloud Sync. Only new recordings captured afterwards will stay local on your computer.
FAQ about Private Cloud Sync
What happens to my recordings if I turn Private Cloud Sync off?
Recordings already in the cloud are not affected — they remain accessible on Plaud App and Plaud Web. Only new recordings made after disabling sync will stay local.
Will disabling Private Cloud Sync delete my cloud recordings?
No. Turning off Private Cloud Sync stops future uploads only. To remove a recording from the cloud, delete it manually from your recordings list.
How much cloud storage do I get?
Cloud storage is unlimited and included with all activated Plaud accounts at no extra cost.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Plaud encrypts data in transit and at rest. Your recordings are private to your account and not shared with anyone else.
My recording isn’t appearing on Plaud App or Plaud Web after enabling sync. What should I check?
Make sure Plaud Desktop is connected to the internet and signed in to the same Plaud account you use on other devices. If recordings still don’t appear, try toggling Private Cloud Sync off and back on in Preferences.
Will my Desktop recordings show up in the same place as my other Plaud recordings?
Yes. With Private Cloud Sync enabled, Plaud Desktop recordings sync to your Plaud account and appear in the same recordings workspace as your other Plaud recordings on Plaud App and Plaud Web. Sign in to the same Plaud account on each device, and keep Plaud Desktop connected to the internet so recordings can upload.
Can I search across my Desktop meetings and my in-person Plaud recordings?
Yes. Global search covers both your Desktop meeting recordings and your in-person Plaud recordings, as long as they are synced to the same Plaud account and have finished generating a transcript and summary. Use global search in Plaud App or Plaud Web. If something does not appear, confirm the recording has finished uploading, the transcript has finished processing, and you are searching in the correct workspace, then refresh and try again.
