Symptoms
- After you click Auto generation in Plaud Desktop, the transcript or summary and notes do not appear or stay stuck in a generating state.
- Auto generation on Desktop creates a transcript and notes with default AI settings as soon as processing is available.
- Custom generation on Plaud Web lets you choose templates, speaker labels, language, and AI model. Options may vary by plan and version.
Steps
-
Check the upload status: In Plaud Desktop, open Recent uploads and check the upload status of the recording. If the upload did not complete, click to re-upload it. If the upload keeps failing, check your internet connection or switch to another network, update Plaud Desktop to the latest version, and try again.
-
Generate on Plaud Web: If it still fails after re-uploading, open the same recording in Plaud Web → select the file → click Generate → choose Auto generation or Custom generation (for Custom, set Audio language to match your recording) → click Generate now.
If the issue persists
If the upload is complete and generation still fails, check that your membership (Starter or higher) is active and not expired, and that your Plaud device is still bound to the account that holds the membership benefits — generation requires an active plan on the bound account. If generation still fails after a retry or shows an error, submit a request and include the following so our support team can investigate:
- The error text or a screenshot
- Your Plaud Desktop version
- The log file
