Symptoms
- After you click Auto generation in Plaud Desktop, the transcript or summary and notes do not appear or stay stuck in a generating state.
- Auto generation on Desktop creates a transcript and notes with default AI settings as soon as processing is available.
- Custom generation on Plaud Web lets you choose templates, speaker labels, language, and AI model. Options may vary by plan and version.
Steps
- Confirm upload and sync are complete: Make sure the recording has finished uploading to the cloud and you are signed in to the correct account and workspace.
- Refresh and retry: Reopen the recording and retry Auto generation once.
- Use Plaud Web for more control: Open the same recording in Plaud Web and run Custom generation if you need specific settings such as template, language, speaker labels, or model.
- Check processing status: Verify whether the recording is queued, processing, or complete, and look in the transcript and notes area for results.
- Enable notifications: Turn on Notes ready notifications so you are alerted when generation finishes.
If the issue persists
If the upload is complete and generation still fails after a retry or shows an error, submit a request and include the following so our support team can investigate:
- The error text or a screenshot
- Your Plaud Desktop version
- The log file
