Symptoms
- Recording does not start automatically when a meeting begins.
- You do not see a meeting detected confirmation prompt.
- Plaud Desktop offers three modes in Settings > Recording or Notifications (menu labels may vary): Meeting start notification shows a prompt when a supported meeting is detected and starts recording after you confirm; Automatic recording starts and stops recording when meetings begin and end; Manual recording lets you start and stop whenever you want.
Steps
- Confirm the selected mode: Make sure Automatic recording is turned on if you expect recording to start and stop automatically. Otherwise, use Meeting start notification for prompts.
- Keep Plaud Desktop running and signed in: Auto-detection does not work if the app is closed or you are signed in to the wrong account or workspace.
- Confirm the meeting platform is supported: Automatic recording only works for supported meeting platforms.
- Check permissions: Verify that microphone and system audio permissions are enabled for Plaud Desktop.
- Restart and re-join: Toggle the selected mode off and on, restart Plaud Desktop, then leave and re-join the meeting. Your recording behavior should then match the mode you selected.
If the issue persists
If Automatic Recording still does not work after these steps, submit a request and include the following so our support team can investigate:
- The recording mode you selected
- The meeting platform you are using
- Your computer OS and Plaud Desktop version
- The date and time the meeting took place
