Members can leave a Plaud Team workspace at any time. Leaving removes your access to the Team workspace and its content, but your Personal workspace and its content remain unaffected. If you are the last Admin, you must assign a new Admin before leaving.
How do I leave a workspace?
On Plaud App:
- Open the Plaud App and make sure the Team workspace is your active workspace.
- Go to Settings.
- Go to Personalization.
- Select Leave workspace at the bottom and confirm.
On Plaud Web:
- Sign in to Plaud Web and make sure the Team workspace is your active workspace.
- Go to your workspace settings.
- Select Leave workspace and confirm.
After leaving, you will no longer have access to the Team workspace or any of its content.
What happens when I leave?
- Your seat is freed — your Admin can reassign it to another person or reduce the seat count
- Your content in the Team workspace — recordings, transcriptions, and notes you uploaded to the Team workspace are removed from the workspace and are no longer accessible to you or other Members. Files you previously shared via invite links remain accessible to the recipients of those links.
- Your Personal workspace is unaffected — recordings, notes, and content in your Personal workspace remain as they are
- Your Plaud device — any Plaud device bound to the Team workspace is automatically unbound, and any unsynced recordings stored on the device are cleared. If the device is your personal property, you can re-bind it to your Personal workspace via the Plaud App. If the device was provided by your organization, return it to your company per their policy.
What if I'm an Admin and want to leave?
If you are an Admin, you must transfer Admin responsibility to another Member before leaving. The workspace must always have at least one Admin.
To transfer the Admin role:
- Sign in to Plaud Web and go to Settings → Workspace management → Members & roles.
- Find the Member you want to promote and change their role to Admin.
- Once another Admin is assigned, you can leave the workspace.
FAQ about leaving a workspace
Can I rejoin the workspace later if I change my mind?
Yes, but only if an Admin sends you a new invitation. You cannot rejoin on your own because leaving fully revokes your access. Re-entry requires a fresh email invite. Please note that rejoining is treated exactly like joining for the first time. You will be added as a completely new Member and cannot recover any recordings, transcripts, or notes from your previous time in the Team workspace.
Will my teammates still see files I shared before leaving?
Yes. Invite links you previously sent to other Team Members continue to work after you leave — anyone who already received the link keeps access to the shared content. However, you cannot create new invites or modify existing shares once you lose access to the workspace.
What if I'm the only Admin — can I still leave?
No. You must first promote another Member to Admin from Settings → Workspace management → Members & roles on Plaud Web. Once another Admin exists, you can leave. The workspace must always have at least one Admin.
Does leaving the workspace also cancel the subscription?
No. Leaving only removes you as a Member. The workspace and its subscription continue. Only an Admin can cancel the subscription from Settings → Workspace management → Billing & plan on Plaud Web.
