Symptoms
What everyone in the workspace sees (Members and Admins):
- Existing content is viewable, but all editing, recording, and uploading actions are blocked
- A banner informing the workspace has been restricted
- New recordings cannot be transcribed or synced
Admin-specific signals:
- Settings → Workspace management → Billing & plan shows the subscription status as Unpaid / Suspended or Expired
- A failed-payment notification email was sent to the Admin's billing email
Steps
All steps below are performed from Settings → Workspace management → Billing & plan on Plaud Web.

Check your subscription status
You can find your status by going to your Settings and choosing Workspace management. Under Billing and plan, check the Current plan area for any notifications regarding payment issues. If there is a problem, your status will show as Unpaid, Suspended, or Expired. For more details on how the grace period works, please refer to our guide on Plaud Team payment failed.<br>

Update your payment method (if applicable)
If the issue is caused by a failed payment, go to Settings → Workspace management → Billing & plan → Manage billing. Click through to the Stripe portal, remove the outdated card, and add a valid one. After you save the new card, Stripe automatically retries the failed charge.

Wait for status to refresh
Workspace access is restored automatically once the charge succeeds. If read-only mode persists after 5 minutes, try refreshing the page or logging out and back in. If you are a Member (not an Admin), you cannot resolve this yourself — ask your Admin to check the subscription status and update the payment method.
If the issue persists
If you are a Member and your Admin says billing is fine, or if you are the Admin and cannot resolve the issue, please submit a request to our support team. Include the following information:
- Your workspace name or ID
- The invoice number (if visible)
- A description of what you see when you try to edit or record
