A role defines what a person can do inside a Plaud Team workspace — who can manage the workspace and who can use it as a regular user.
What roles are available in Plaud Team?
Plaud Team currently supports two role options:
Admin
Admins manage the Team workspace through Settings → Workspace management on Plaud Web. This includes:
- Updating workspace information (General)
- Inviting and removing Members, canceling or resending invitations, and changing Member roles (Members & roles)
- Managing billing and seats (Billing & plan)
- Viewing the device list (Devices)
Admins can also use the workspace like regular Members. The workspace creator is automatically assigned the Admin role. A workspace can have more than one Admin.
What Admins cannot do: Admins cannot access individual Members' personal workspaces — private content remains visible only to its creator, unless explicitly shared via invite.
Member
Members can access and use the Plaud Team workspace, but they do not have administrative permissions. Members can:
- Access the Team workspace and enjoy the full benefits of the Plaud Unlimited Plan
- Create and manage content in their own private Space
- Switch between Personal and Team workspaces
- Connect and sync their Plaud device under the workspace
- Leave the workspace
Members cannot manage other users, invitations, billing, or workspace settings.
How do I change a Member's role?
Admins can change a Member's role at any time from Settings → Workspace management → Members & roles on Plaud Web. Role changes are not supported on Plaud App. For example, a Member can be promoted to Admin, or an Admin can be changed back to Member.
However, the workspace must always have at least one Admin. The last remaining Admin cannot remove their own Admin role or leave the workspace until another Admin is assigned.
FAQ about roles
How many Admins can one workspace have?
A workspace can have more than one Admin — there is no hard upper limit. However, every workspace must have at least one Admin at all times.
Can I remove the last Admin from a workspace?
No. The last remaining Admin cannot remove their own Admin role or leave the workspace until another Admin has been assigned. Promote another Member to Admin first. Note: a user also cannot delete their own Plaud account if they hold the Admin role in one or more workspaces — they must first transfer Admin responsibility to another Member.
Can Admins see my private content?
No. Admins cannot access Members' private Spaces — private content remains visible only to its creator, unless explicitly shared via invite. Admin governance is limited to membership, devices, billing, and workspace settings, not individual Member content.
Are there roles beyond Admin and Member?
No. Plaud Team currently supports exactly two roles: Admin and Member. There are no additional tiers or custom roles at this time.
