Symptoms
- Google Play will not update the Plaud App, or shows an error such as "Can't install," "Something went wrong," or "Incompatible."
- This is usually caused by Android version compatibility or a Google Play update or install issue. Newer versions of the Plaud App no longer support Android 6.0, because we upgrade core Android components and our SDK to improve stability and security.
Steps
-
Check your Android version. Open Settings then About phone (or About device) and find Android version.
- If your device is on Android 6.0, you can keep using your current installed app version, but you cannot install future updates. To receive updates, upgrade your device to Android 7.0 or later, or switch to a device that supports Android 7.0 or later.
- If your device is on Android 7.0 or later, continue to the next step.
- Note the Google Play error message. Open Google Play and try updating again. If you see an error, take a screenshot. It helps identify the cause faster.
- Check your connection. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, then retry.
- Free up storage. Make sure you have enough free space, at least a few GB recommended.
- Restart your phone. Reboot and try updating again.
- Update Google Play components. Update Google Play Store and Google Play services.
- Clear the Google Play Store cache and data. Open Settings then Apps then Google Play Store then Storage. Tap Clear cache, then Clear data. Reopen Google Play and try again.
