Overview
This article explains what you can and can't do when your Plaud device is lost, how to try locating it, and what to do next. It applies to all models: Plaud Note, Plaud Note Pro, Plaud NotePin, and Plaud NotePin S.
Can I locate my lost Plaud device?
Plaud devices don't have GPS or real-time location tracking. Whether you can locate one depends on your phone and device model.
- iPhone users with Plaud Note Pro, Plaud NotePin, or Plaud NotePin S: if you set up Apple Find My before losing the device, open the Find My app to see its last known location. See How to locate my Plaud Note Pro through Find My?, How to locate my Plaud NotePin through Find My?, or How to locate my Plaud NotePin S through Find My?.
- Android users: Apple Find My isn't available on Android, so there's no way to locate a lost Plaud device from an Android phone.
- Plaud Note: this model doesn't support Find My, so it can't be located once lost.
If Find My wasn't set up before the loss, it can't be enabled remotely afterward.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Your device is bound to your Plaud account, so nobody else can bind it or use it with their account. Recordings already transferred to the Plaud App stay in your account, and files on the device are deleted after transfer. Whoever holds the device can't access your files.
Is a lost device covered by the warranty?
No. Loss isn't covered under the warranty policy, so a lost device can't be replaced for free.
Can I still use my membership?
Yes. Your membership stays active and isn't tied to the device. You can keep using transcription and AI features by importing audio files into the Plaud App or Plaud Web.
