Salesforce integration lets you log Plaud notes to Salesforce as tasks. After a sales call or meeting, push your note into Salesforce from Plaud Web instead of retyping it in your CRM.
What is Salesforce integration?
Salesforce integration authorizes Plaud to push records to your Salesforce CRM. After you record a conversation and generate a note, such as your summary, you can log that note to Salesforce as a completed task linked to the right contact, account, or opportunity. It removes the manual work of copying meeting notes into your CRM after every call.
Before you start
- Your Salesforce administrator must install the Plaud package in your Salesforce org before Members can connect. Members who try to connect before the package is installed will see an error.
- You can only log notes from files that already have a generated summary or other note.
How to connect Plaud to Salesforce?
Connecting takes two steps: your Salesforce administrator installs the Plaud package once, then each Member connects their own account.
Step 1: Install the Plaud package (Salesforce administrator)
- Open the Plaud package installation link: Plaud for Salesforce package
- Sign in to Salesforce as an administrator.
- Select Install for All Users, acknowledge the notice, and click Install.
This step is performed by your Salesforce administrator, not a Plaud Team Admin. It only needs to be done once for your Salesforce org.
Step 2: Connect your Salesforce account (each Member)
- In Plaud Web, go to Explore \> Integrations.
- On the Salesforce card, click Connect.
- Sign in with your own Salesforce account, then click Allow on the authorization page.
- You'll be redirected back to Plaud, and the Salesforce card will show Connected.
You sign in on Salesforce's own login page, so Plaud never sees or stores your Salesforce password.
How to log a note to Salesforce?
- Open a file that has a generated note, and click the three-dot menu.
- Select Log to Salesforce.
- Choose the note you want to log. You can select one note per push. Audio and transcripts can't be logged.
- Choose a contact, and either an account or an opportunity. You can't select an account and an opportunity at the same time. This is a Salesforce restriction. The Log button stays greyed out until you select a contact, an opportunity, or an account.
- Click Log. Plaud creates a task in Salesforce with your note's content.
- Click Open in Salesforce to view the task you just created.
Files that have been logged show a Salesforce mark, so you can tell which calls are already in your CRM.
What Plaud creates in Salesforce
Each push creates one task record in Salesforce with the subtype Call. The fields map as follows:
| Salesforce field | What Plaud fills in |
|---|---|
| Subject | The Plaud file title |
| Assigned to | Your Salesforce account you connected with |
| Name (contact) | The contact you selected |
| Related to | The opportunity you selected, or the account if no opportunity was selected |
| Comments | The content of the note you selected |
Logging rules and limits
- Each push creates a new task. Logging again never overwrites an earlier task. If you log the same file twice, both tasks stay in Salesforce as separate records.
- Log again freely. After the first push, Plaud marks the file as logged and asks whether you want to log again. You can pick a different note, contact, account, or opportunity each time.
- Open in Salesforce points to the latest task. Earlier tasks created from the same file are managed in Salesforce, not from Plaud.
- A note is required. The log option is unavailable until the file has a generated summary or other note.
- Connection is per Member. Each Member connects their own Salesforce account, and tasks are assigned to the account that pushed them.
- Team files can't be logged. You can log your private files, including inside a Team workspace. Files under Team files don't show the log option.
FAQ about Salesforce integration
Can I log the same note more than once?
Yes. Every push creates a new, separate task in Salesforce. Nothing is overwritten, so remove duplicates in Salesforce if you log by mistake.
Why don't I see the Salesforce card or the log option?
Salesforce integration is available in Team workspaces only, so the Salesforce card doesn't appear under Explore \> Integrations in a Personal workspace. Inside a Team workspace, the log option appears in the file menu only after you've connected your Salesforce account.
Why is the Log button greyed out?
You need to select a contact or an opportunity or an account before logging. The option is also unavailable if the file doesn't have a generated note yet.
Does Plaud store my Salesforce password?
No. You sign in on Salesforce's own login page and approve access there. Plaud never sees your password.
Do I need to know how to configure Salesforce?
No. Your Salesforce administrator installs the Plaud package once. After that, you only connect your account and log notes. For questions about tasks, contacts, or opportunities inside Salesforce, see Salesforce's own help documentation.
