Use the case for rooms and groups, and the earbuds for calls and meetings.
The earbuds cover calls and online meetings.
When should I use the case?
- You're in a meeting room, interview, or group discussion.
- You can place the case on a table near the speakers. Its four microphones pick up voices from up to 5 meters away.
When should I use the earbuds?
- You're on a phone call or in an online meeting. The earbuds record the call audio directly.
- You're listening to a podcast or other audio you want to capture.
How does Plaud One decide which one records?
Start a recording with the recording button on the case. During a call, or while audio plays through the earbuds, the earbuds record that call or audio. In every other situation, the case records the room, even when you're wearing the earbuds. Check the light bar: yellow means the earbuds are recording, and white means the case is.
To record an in-person conversation, place the case near the speakers. The earbuds don't capture the room around you.
Privacy comes first: when recording in person with the case, let the people around you know and get consent where your local laws require it. For calls and online meetings, Plaud One plays a voice announcement to participants when recording starts.
