Switch noise control in the Plaud Mobile App under Earbuds > Noise control.
What are noise control modes?
Noise control sets how much outside sound you hear while wearing Plaud One earbuds. There are three modes:
- Noise cancellation: the earbuds use their microphones to detect outside sound and cancel it, so you hear less of your surroundings.
- Transparency mode: the earbuds let outside sound in, so you can hear voices and your surroundings while wearing them.
- Off: neither noise cancellation nor transparency is applied.
How to switch noise control modes?
Pick a mode, including Off, under Earbuds > Noise control.
By factory default, pressing and holding the earbud stem starts or stops an earbud recording, not noise control. To switch modes with a gesture instead, reassign press and hold to noise control in the Plaud Mobile App.
When to use each mode
- Noise cancellation: focus time, commutes, flights, and noisy offices. The earbuds reduce ambient noise and adapt to your surroundings in real time. You can also set the Noise cancellation level to High, Medium, or Low on the same screen.
- Transparency mode: face-to-face conversations. Outside sound comes through, so you can talk naturally without removing the earbuds, including while recording a conversation.
