Automatic recording captures every call and online meeting on Plaud One. You don't need to touch a button.
What is automatic recording?
Automatic recording starts a recording whenever you join a phone call or an online meeting with your Plaud One connected, and stops when the call ends. You don't need to remember to record, so important conversations aren't missed.
Before you start
- Requires your Plaud One connected to your phone.
- Automatic recording is off by default. In the Plaud Mobile App, open your Plaud One's settings and go to Call & meeting options under Recording, then turn on Auto-record.
- Recording laws vary by region. Make sure you have consent from participants where required.
How to use automatic recording?
- In the Plaud Mobile App, go to Call & meeting options in your Plaud One's settings and turn on Auto-record. Confirm the consent notice to enable it.
- Join a call or online meeting with your device connected. Recording starts automatically.
- When the call ends, the recording stops and uploads, and AutoFlow generates the transcript and summary.
Auto-record pauses while the charging case is already recording. Stop the case recording first if you want calls captured automatically.
FAQ about automatic recording
Why can't I turn on Auto-record?
Check these in order:
- Make sure your Plaud One is connected to the Plaud Mobile App. The Call & meeting options menu only shows while the device is connected.
- Take the earbuds out of the charging case. Earbud-related settings hide while the earbuds sit in the case; see Why does the earbud settings menu disappear in the Plaud Mobile App?.
- If the case is recording, stop that recording first. Auto-record pauses while the case records.
- Confirm the consent notice when it appears; Auto-record stays off until you confirm it.
Which apps does it work with?
Auto-record isn't tied to an app list. It covers phone calls and every meeting app that plays its audio through your connected earbuds, so if you take the call or meeting on Plaud One, it's recorded.
Can I exclude certain calls?
No. Auto-record is a single switch that applies to all calls and meetings. To skip a specific call, turn off Auto-record before it starts, and record manually when you need to.
Does the other person know the call is being recorded?
Yes, in most cases. When recording starts on a call or online meeting, Plaud One plays a voice announcement so participants know the conversation is being recorded. Keep in mind the announcement plays through your microphone, so if your meeting microphone is muted when recording starts, participants won't hear it. The announcement doesn't replace your own responsibility: when you turn on Auto-record, the Mobile App asks you to confirm that all participants will be informed and that you've obtained any consent required by law in your location and theirs. Plaud doesn't obtain consent on your behalf, so always tell participants before recording.
