If the upgrade stalls, fails, or reports low storage, your data is safe while the Plaud Mobile App stays installed. This guide gives four steps, in order: keep the app installed, free up storage, retry on a stable network, and export local files as a fallback. Not enough phone storage is the most common cause.
Steps
- Keep the Plaud Mobile App installed: whatever happens, don't uninstall the Mobile App. Your data isn't lost while the Mobile App stays installed; uninstalling mid-upgrade permanently deletes recordings that haven't migrated.
- Free up phone storage if prompted: the error screen shows how much space is needed. Free up at least that much, then tap Try again.
- Retry on a stable network: move to reliable Wi-Fi, keep the Mobile App open in the foreground, and retry. Cloud content is safe; only local files wait on migration.
- Export local files as a fallback: if local migration keeps failing, use Export recordings when offered. The Mobile App shows how many files and how much space you need. Re-import them later with the add button on Home.
If the issue persists
Submit a request and include the following so our support team can investigate:
- Your Mobile App version and phone model
- A screenshot of the error screen
- The issue log (the failure screen offers Send issue log, which prepares it automatically)
