What is Private Cloud Sync?
With Private Cloud Sync on, your content uploads to the cloud automatically and stays accessible from any device you sign in on. It's also your backup: files that only live on one device can't be recovered if that device loses them.
Before you start
- Sign in to your Plaud account, and stay connected to the internet for syncing.
- View and manage your storage in Manage storage, at the bottom of the Private Cloud Sync settings.
How to turn on Private Cloud Sync?
- On the home screen, tap the menu icon in the top-left corner, then tap Settings.
- Under Workspace, tap Private Cloud Sync.
- Turn on Enable Private Cloud Sync. To save mobile data, you can also turn on Sync on Wi-Fi only.
Managing synced content
- New recordings sync automatically after capture. With Wi-Fi only enabled, syncing waits for Wi-Fi.
- You can delete a recording from the cloud while keeping the local copy.
- Turning sync off stops future uploads. It doesn't delete what's already in the cloud.
FAQ about Private Cloud Sync
Can I manage sync from Plaud Web or Plaud Desktop?
Sync settings are managed in the Mobile App. Plaud Web shows your sync status and connected devices. See Private Cloud Sync on Plaud Web; for desktop, see Private Cloud Sync on Plaud Desktop.
What happens if I keep sync off?
Your files exist only on the device. If you permanently delete a file from Trash, there's no cloud backup to recover it from.
How does sync work in a Plaud Team workspace?
In a Plaud Team workspace, Private Cloud Sync is always on and can't be turned off. Your content stays private; other Members and Admins can't see it unless you share it.
