Every transcript has two versions: Original text and Cleaned-up text. Switch between the word-for-word record and the easier read anytime.
Applies to: v4.0.x or later. Still using v3.30.x or earlier Plaud Mobile App? See Auto Polish.
What are transcript versions?
The new Plaud Mobile App provides two versions of every transcript:
- Original text: keeps the conversation as spoken, including filler words and repeated phrases. Useful when you need an exact record.
- Cleaned-up text: removes filler words and false starts for easier reading.
The Cleaned-up text is controlled by the Clean up transcript automatically toggle in Settings > Preferences > Transcription & summary, which is on by default. If you turn it off, new recordings only get the Original text; existing files keep their Cleaned-up text. Turn the toggle back on and you can generate the Cleaned-up text again.
Speech recognition now also handles overlapping speakers better, so short interjections during another person's sentence are captured more reliably.
Before you start
- Switching between versions doesn't consume transcription minutes.
How to switch transcript versions?
- Open the recording, then tap the Audio & transcript card.
- In the Transcript section, tap the version switcher in the top-right corner, which shows Cleaned-up text by default.
- Choose Cleaned-up text or Original text. Switching only changes which version you're reading.
FAQ about transcript versions
Does switching versions change my transcript?
