Deleted files go to Trash first; only deleting from Trash is permanent.
Applies to: v4.0.x or later. Still using v3.30.x or earlier Plaud Mobile App? See Delete recordings and files, Restore deleted audio, or Rename, move, delete, and restore files.
How deletion works
- Deleting a recording moves it to Trash, where it can still be restored.
- Deleting a file from Trash is permanent and can't be undone.
- Moving a file to Trash doesn't free up storage. Space is released only after permanent deletion.
How to delete a recording?
- In your file list, swipe left on a file, or tap the sort button next to Meeting notes and choose Select (in Library, tap the ⋯ button in the top-right corner and choose Select). Then select the recording you want to delete. You can select multiple files at once.
- Tap Delete in the bottom bar, then confirm. The selected files move to Trash.
How to restore or permanently delete?
- Tap the menu icon in the top-left corner of the home screen, tap Library, then tap the ⋯ button in the top-right corner and choose Trash.
- Select the file, then tap Restore in the bottom bar to return it to your files, or Delete to remove it permanently.
Before you delete
If cloud sync is off for a file, it exists only in the Mobile App with no backup. Once permanently deleted, it's gone. Make sure the file is synced if you might need it later.
Files in Trash are kept indefinitely; there's no automatic cleanup. They stay in Trash until you restore or permanently delete them.
FAQ about deletion
I deleted a file by mistake.
Open Trash and restore it. If it was permanently deleted, it can't be recovered.
