Re-transcribe to generate a fresh transcript, and know what gets replaced.
Applies to: v4.0.x or later. Still using v3.30.x or earlier Plaud Web? See Re-transcribe.
Before you start
- Re-transcribing doesn't consume transcription minutes or Plaud Credits, and neither does re-generating the summary, even with a different template.
- Re-generating Transcript and Summary replaces the current transcript, the summary, and your notes. Copy anything you want to keep first. Summary only keeps the transcript and regenerates just the summary.
How to re-transcribe?
- Open the recording and click the ··· menu at the top right.
- Click Regenerate, then choose Transcript and Summary. To regenerate only the summary without re-transcribing, choose Summary only instead.
- In the dialog, check the settings. Transcript and Summary lets you pick automatic detection or a manual audio language; both options let you choose a Summary template. Then click Generate now.
FAQ about re-transcribing
Can I keep my current summary and add one in another template?
Yes. Instead of re-generating, click + New note in the Artifacts row on the recording page. See Multidimensional summaries on Plaud Web.
Will the quality improve if I re-run the same audio?
Not necessarily. Accuracy depends on the audio itself; clearer recording conditions help more than re-running.
