Deleted recordings go to Trash first. Only deleting from Trash is permanent.
Applies to: v4.0.x or later. Still using v3.30.x or earlier Plaud Web? See Rename, delete, move, merge, and restore files.
How deletion works
- Deleting a recording moves it to Trash, where it can still be restored.
- Deleting a file from Trash is permanent and can't be undone.
- Moving a file to Trash doesn't free up storage. Space is released only after permanent deletion.
How to delete a recording?
- In your file list, hover over files and tick the checkboxes to select one or more recordings, or choose Move to Trash from a file's ⋯ menu.
- Confirm. The selected files move to Trash.
How to restore or permanently delete?
- Open Library in the side navigation, expand the file panel, and click Trash at the bottom of the panel.
- Select the file, then choose Restore to return it to your files, or Delete to remove it permanently.
Before you delete
Files in Trash are kept indefinitely: there's no automatic cleanup. They stay in Trash until you restore or permanently delete them.
FAQ about deletion
I deleted a file by mistake.
Open Trash and restore it. If it was permanently deleted, it can't be recovered.
Does deleting on the Web also delete in the Mobile App?
Yes. Your files are synced, so deletion applies to your account across platforms.
