What is a Routine?
A Routine connects a trigger to actions: when an interview recording finishes transcribing, trigger a routine to run your interview Skill, file the recording, and save the report to Notion.
How to create and manage Routines?
- Open Ask Plaud → Routines from the side navigation.
- Choose Create manually to define the trigger and actions yourself, or Create with AI to describe the automation in plain language in a Work conversation and let Plaud Agent build it.
- In the New routine dialog (manual creation), fill in a Title and a Description of the task — type / in the description to insert a Skill — then set the trigger and click Create.
Trigger types
A Routine can fire on four kinds of triggers:
- Time-based: runs on a schedule you set, such as once at a specific date and time, or daily at a set time.
- Event-based: runs whenever a specific event happens. Use this to process every new recording automatically, such as running your interview Skill on each finished transcript.
- Keyword-based: runs when a recording or transcript matches a keyword you specify.
-
Person-based: runs when a specific person is detected in a recording.
Permissions and auto-approve
Each Routine has an Auto-approve switch, which is on by default. With it on, the Routine automatically approves third-party access and permission requests, including file edits or deletions, without asking you each time. Enable it only after thorough testing and if you fully trust the task. Turn it off if you want the Routine's sensitive actions (such as sending an email or a Slack message) to wait for your approval on a Permission Card instead. See Connectors on Plaud Web.
Where do Routine results go?
Tasks triggered by your Routines appear on the Tasks page alongside the ones you start by hand. See Track Agent tasks on Plaud Web.
FAQ about Routines
Do Routines run when I'm not on the page?
Yes. Routines run in the cloud on their triggers, whether or not Plaud Web is open.
