Edit audio on Plaud Web: trim a recording to a selection or delete unwanted sections.
Applies to: v4.0.x or later. Still using v3.30.x or earlier Plaud Web? See Audio Trimming.
Edits are saved as a new file, and your original recording is never changed.
How to edit audio
- Open the recording and go to Audio & transcript.
- Click the edit audio button at the top right of the player.
- In the Edit audio window, drag on the waveform to select a section. You can play the selection to check it, and zoom in or out for finer control.
- Choose an action:
- Trim to selection: keeps only the selected section and discards the rest.
- Delete selection: removes the selected section and keeps the rest.
- Click Save as to save the result as a new file. The original recording is untouched.
What happens to my content?
- The transcript timeline adjusts to the edited audio: removed sections disappear, and later timestamps shift up.
- Highlights inside the kept audio are preserved with their timestamps recalculated; highlights inside removed sections are dropped.
FAQ about audio editing
Does editing change my original recording?
No. Edits always save as a new file, and the original stays as it was.
Does the new file cost transcription minutes?
