Plaud One won't charge, charges slowly, or never reaches full? Most cases trace back to dirty contacts, the cable, or the power adapter. This article covers the charging case, the earbuds, and a case that only works while plugged in. Plaud One charges through USB-C only and doesn't support wireless charging.
Steps
If the charging case won't charge
The case still has battery, connects to your phone, and works normally, but when you plug it in, the battery level doesn't go up, charges very slowly, or never reaches full.
-
Clean the USB-C port
Debris, dirt, or moisture in the port can stop the cable from seating properly. Gently clear the USB-C port on the case with a wooden toothpick or a dry cotton swab. Don't use alcohol wipes, liquids, or any corrosive cleaner.
-
Use a cable and adapter that meet the requirements
The package doesn't include a cable or power adapter. Use a USB-C cable with a power adapter rated 5V/1A or higher, and plug into a wall outlet. If you've been using the same cable and adapter, swap in another set you know work. Don't place the case on a wireless charging pad, as wireless charging isn't supported.
-
Charge the case for 15 minutes
Keep the case connected to power for at least 15 minutes, then check again. A few seconds isn't enough to tell whether it's charging.
-
Restart the case
Restarting clears the Bluetooth pairing of both the case and the earbuds.
- Place both earbuds in the case and unplug the charging cable.
- Press and hold the pairing button inside the case for 15 seconds.
- In your phone's Bluetooth settings, choose Forget This Device for Plaud One Earbuds.
- Set up Plaud One again in the Plaud Mobile App, the same way you first bound it. See How to bind Plaud One to your Plaud account.
- Reconnect the case to power and check whether charging resumes.
If the earbuds won't charge
The earbuds connect to your phone and still work, but the case doesn't charge them, charges them very slowly, or never fills them up.
-
Clean the charging contacts and check the pins
Wipe the metal contacts on both earbuds and the charging pins inside the case with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth or a dry cotton swab. Don't use alcohol wipes or liquids. While cleaning, check whether any charging pin inside the case looks sunken or sits lower than the others. A sunken pin can't make contact, so don't press or pry it. Contact support with a photo of the pins instead.
-
Charge the earbuds in the case
Place the earbuds in the case, make sure each one sits fully in its slot, and make sure the case itself has battery or is connected to power.
-
Check the charging icon in the Plaud Mobile App
Open the lid with the earbuds inside. In the Plaud Mobile App, earbuds that are charging show a lightning icon.
-
Restart the earbuds
Keep the earbuds in the case, close the lid, and wait 30 seconds before opening it again.
If the charging case only works while plugged in
The case connects, responds to buttons, and charges the earbuds only while it's connected to power. Once you unplug it, it stops responding.
-
Charge with a different cable for 15 minutes
Swap in another USB-C cable and charge the case for at least 15 minutes.
-
Restart the case
Restarting clears the Bluetooth pairing of both the case and the earbuds.
- Place both earbuds in the case and unplug the charging cable.
- Press and hold the pairing button inside the case for 15 seconds.
- In your phone's Bluetooth settings, choose Forget This Device for Plaud One Earbuds.
- Set up Plaud One again in the Plaud Mobile App, the same way you first bound it. See How to bind Plaud One to your Plaud account.
