Plaud One case won't start a new recording, or the light bar flashes red? This article walks through six checks, easiest first. An unbound device or full storage is the usual cause.
Steps
-
Update the Plaud Mobile App and firmware
Install the latest version of the Plaud Mobile App, then install any available firmware update.
-
Make sure the device is bound to your Plaud account
An unbound Plaud One can't start a recording. If you haven't bound it yet, or the device was unbound, bind it in the Plaud Mobile App first. See How to bind Plaud One to your Plaud account.
-
Check whether the light bar flashes red
Press and hold the recording button and watch the light bar. A flashing red light bar means local storage is full, so the case can't start a new recording until earlier recordings upload. Your saved recordings are safe and won't be overwritten.
-
If storage is full, upload your recordings
Move to an area where the Plaud Mobile App shows 4G as Connected, and pending recordings upload automatically. No 4G signal? Connect Plaud One to the Plaud Mobile App and upload through your phone. Once uploads finish, you can record again.
A weak 4G signal doesn't stop the case from recording. It only delays uploads, and storage fills up when recordings can't upload for a long time.
-
If the light bar doesn't flash red, restart the case
Make sure the case has battery. Restarting clears the Bluetooth pairing of both the case and the earbuds.
- Place both earbuds in the case and unplug the charging cable.
- Press and hold the pairing button inside the case for 15 seconds.
- In your phone's Bluetooth settings, choose Forget This Device for Plaud One Earbuds.
- Set up Plaud One again in the Plaud Mobile App, the same way you first bound it. See How to bind Plaud One to your Plaud account.
-
Try starting a recording from the Mobile App
Put the earbuds in the case, then start a case recording from the Plaud Mobile App. If it starts from the Mobile App but not from the recording button, the button may be faulty. Contact our support team with a short video of you pressing the button.

If the issue persists
Submit a request and include the following so our support team can investigate:
- A short video of the light bar when you press the recording button
- Whether recent recordings have uploaded to the Plaud Mobile App
- Whether a case recording starts from the Plaud Mobile App
- A screenshot of any error message, such as a storage full message that stays after your recordings upload
- Your Plaud Mobile App log (tap the menu icon > Help Center > Diagnostics > Share log; see Export a log file in the Plaud Mobile App)
- Your device S/N (on the bottom of the charging case)
