Plaud One recording has noise, short gaps, or missing words? This article walks through three checks, easiest first. Distance between the earbuds and the case is a common cause.
Steps
-
Update the Plaud Mobile App and firmware
Install the latest version of the Plaud Mobile App, then install any available firmware update.
-
Check which device made the recording
Plaud One records with either the case or the earbuds. During recording, a white light means the case is recording the room, and a yellow light means the earbuds are recording your call or media audio. If the case recorded while it was far from the speakers, for example in a bag, voices can sound quiet or unclear. See Should the case or the earbuds record my conversation?.
-
Keep the earbuds close to the case, then record again
When the earbuds record, they send the audio to the case. If the earbuds and case drift too far apart, the connection weakens before it fully drops, and the recording can pick up noise, short gaps, or missing words. The usable range depends on your surroundings, so keep the case with you, then record a short test.
If the issue persists
Submit a request and include the following so our support team can investigate:
- Whether the case or the earbuds made the recording
- The recording with the issue
- A short description of where you recorded, such as a quiet office, a car, or outdoors
- Whether the issue affects one recording or all of them
