Every plan comes with a one-time grant of Plaud Credits, shown as Trial credits in your account. This article covers how many you receive on each plan, when they expire, and what happens when your subscription renews or ends.
Applies to: v4.0.x or later.
What are Trial credits?
Trial credits are the one-time Plaud Credits granted with your plan, so you can try Work mode in Ask Plaud at no additional cost. They appear as Trial credits in Balance breakdown on your Plaud Credits details page. See How do I view my Plaud Credits details? — for v4.0.x or later.
Trial credits aren't related to the free trial of a paid plan. The free trial lets you try Pro or Unlimited before you pay. Trial credits are Plaud Credits for Work mode. To learn what uses Plaud Credits, see What are Plaud Credits?
How many Trial credits does each plan include?
| Plan or offer | One-time Plaud Credits | Valid for |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | 600 | 3 months |
| Pro | 2,400 | 3 months |
| Unlimited | 6,000 | 3 months |
| Plaud One Explorer Edition pre-order | 20,000, on top of your plan's Trial credits | 12 months from activation |
These amounts apply during the Preview credit-grant campaign, which ends on December 31, 2026. Each plan's grant is issued once:
- New accounts receive the Starter amount. If you then subscribe to Pro or Unlimited, you also receive that plan's Trial credits.
- A free trial counts the same as a paid plan. If you're on a Pro or Unlimited free trial when you update to the new Plaud Mobile App, or you start one after updating, you receive that plan's Trial credits once.
- If you upgrade to a higher plan, you receive that plan's Trial credits right away.
- Downgrading doesn't grant Plaud Credits for the lower plan. See Does upgrading change my subscription?
When do my Plaud Credits expire?
Each batch of Plaud Credits has its own expiration date, shown in Balance breakdown:
- Trial credits: valid for 3 months from the day you update to the new Plaud Mobile App. Trial credits you receive when you upgrade to a higher plan are valid for 3 months from the day you upgrade. Unused Trial credits expire at the end of that period. Trial credits already granted stay valid for the full 3 months, even if that date falls after December 31, 2026.
- Plaud Credits packs you purchase: valid for 1 year from purchase.
- Plaud One Explorer Edition pre-order Plaud Credits: valid for 12 months from activation.
- Plaud Credits from an activation code: valid for 12 months from the day you redeem the code.
Do Trial credits refill when my subscription renews?
No. Trial credits are a one-time grant and don't reset monthly. What resets each month is your plan's transcription minutes, not your Plaud Credits. When your Trial credits run out or expire, you can buy a Plaud Credits pack to keep using Work mode. See Top up Plaud Credits and what happens when they run out.
What happens to my Plaud Credits if I cancel, downgrade, or my plan ends?
Plaud Credits you already received aren't taken back. They stay in your account until their own expiration date, whether you downgrade, cancel, your plan ends, or you don't continue after a free trial.
FAQ about Trial credits
I have Trial credits and a Plaud Credits pack. Which is used first?
Plaud Credits that expire first are used first. For example, if you have Trial credits and a Plaud Credits pack, your Trial credits are used before the pack, because they expire sooner.
Are my Trial credits shared across platforms?
Yes. There is one Plaud Credits balance per account, shared across the Plaud Mobile App, Plaud Web, and Plaud Desktop.
