Trim, delete sections, or remove silence, saved as a new file. Your original recording is never changed.
Applies to: v4.0.x or later. Still using v3.30.x or earlier Plaud Mobile App? See Smart Audio Trimming.
How to edit audio?
- Open the recording and tap the edit entry next to the player.
- Select a section on the waveform, then choose an action:
- Remove silence: automatically detects and removes silent stretches.
- Trim: keeps only the selected section and discards the rest.
- Delete: removes the selected section and keeps the rest.
- Undo and redo are available while you work.
- Tap Save as. Your edit is saved as a new file; the original recording is untouched. A dialog asks whether to generate the transcript and summary for the new file right away; choose no to save the audio only.
What happens to my content?
- The transcript timeline adjusts to the edited audio: removed sections disappear, and later timestamps shift up.
- Highlights (marks, memos, and photos) inside the kept audio are preserved with their timestamps recalculated; highlights inside removed sections are dropped.
FAQ about audio editing
Does editing change my original recording?
No. Edits always save as a new file, and the original stays as it was.
Does the new file cost transcription minutes?
Generating a transcript for the new file follows the standard transcription rules. Saving the audio only costs nothing.
