Re-transcribe regenerates the transcript for a recording on Plaud App — use it when the wrong language was selected or you want to try again with different settings.
What is Re-transcribe?
Re-transcribe takes the original audio and produces a new transcript, replacing the existing one. You can pick the language manually or let Plaud detect it.
Before you start
- Re-transcribing consumes minutes from your account.
- Re-transcribing replaces the current transcript, AI summary, and any notes for the recording.
- Final accuracy still depends on audio clarity, background noise, and speaker volume — re-running the same audio doesn't guarantee a better result.
How to re-transcribe?
- Open the recording.
- Tap "…" at the top-right corner.
- Tap Re-transcribe.
- Pick the language:
- Auto — let Plaud detect the spoken language.
- Custom generation — manually choose the language.
- Tap Generate.
FAQ about Re-transcribe
What if the transcript came out in the wrong language?
This is the most common reason to re-transcribe. See Transcript in the wrong language for the full diagnosis flow, including what to do if re-transcribing doesn't fix it.
Will re-transcribing improve quality?
Not necessarily. Re-running the same audio through the model usually produces a similar transcript. If quality is the issue, improve recording conditions (closer mic, lower background noise, clearer speakers) for future recordings.
Will my notes be preserved?
No. Re-transcribing deletes all existing notes and the AI summary for the recording, then generates new ones from the new transcript.
