What are custom summary templates?
Design your exact structural framework by writing a customized AI prompt. This grants you total control over your final insights.
- Targeted extraction: Isolate specific intelligence like action items, key quantitative data, or intent analysis.
- Professional alignment: Tailor these outputs to match your daily workflow.
- Specialized tasks: Build custom structures for specialized industry frameworks, including medical SOAP notes or sales BANT tracking.
How to create a custom template?
- Go to Template Community and tap Create
- Select "Description to template".
- Enter the template name and write a prompt. Then, tap "Save as my template" and you can use this template directly.
Note: You may also select "Photo to template" to take a photo or upload a photo of your document, and AI will generate a template for you.
Notes on custom templates
- Two ways to customize. Use Description to template to write a prompt. Alternatively, select Photo to template to instantly extract a structural framework from an uploaded image.
- Centralized access: Your custom structures automatically populate your personal library. Access them alongside official options when generating new intelligence.
- Private by default: Plaud strictly secures your customized frameworks to your personal account. Publish them directly to the Template Community to share your structures globally.
FAQ about custom templates
How do custom structures differ from the Template Community?
The Template Community provides pre-built frameworks curated by Plaud and professional users. Custom frameworks are precise structures you design manually via text prompt or document upload.
Can I share my custom template with others?
Yes, but only publicly. Publish your saved template to the Template Community to share it — any Plaud user can then find and use it. There is currently no way to share a template privately with your Team workspace or with a specific user. If you don’t want to publish it, share the prompt text with your teammates so they can create the same template in their own account. Remove any sensitive personal data before publishing to the Template Community.
How do I write an effective prompt?
Writing detailed, structured instructions consistently produces more precise results. Define your required sections — such as Decisions, Action items, or Open questions — and specify exactly what the AI should extract for each.
