If you’re an existing Plaud user, but after changing your phone or deleting the app you can no longer find the it in your local App Store / Google Play, this article applies to you.
We understand this can be stressful. Below is what this situation usually means and how it affects existing users.
Compliance rules also apply to “re-downloads”
Even if you are already a registered Plaud user, we must still comply with:
- U.S. laws and regulations
- Export control and sanctions requirements
- Related compliance policies from app stores and upstream providers
App store availability is controlled by country/region.
If your region becomes restricted, both:
- New downloads and
- Re-downloads (after deletion or device change)
may be blocked.
Your Plaud account vs. re-downloading the app
These are two separate things:
-
Your Plaud account
- Whether your account still exists
- Whether you can log in (for example on web or other platforms, if available)
-
App Store / Google Play availability
- Whether you can download or re-download the Plaud app in your current store region
In some restricted regions, you may still have a valid Plaud account, but cannot reinstall the app from your local app store.
What happens if you delete the app or change devices?
If you:
- Uninstall the app
- Reset your device
- Switch to a new phone
you may find that:
- Searching for “Plaud” in your local App Store / Google Play no longer shows the app
- Trying to re-download from purchase history or direct links fails with a message like “Not available in your region”
This usually reflects regional compliance restrictions, not a punishment or ban on your personal account.
This is usually not a technical issue
In most cases, this situation is not caused by:
- Phone hardware problems
- Temporary app store server errors
If you try on another device using the same store region and the same app store account, you will likely see the same “not available in your region” message.
Not directly related to your previous payments
Even if you:
- Previously purchased a subscription or package, or
- Have an active paid plan
this does not change regional compliance restrictions in the app store.
As long as your current store region is within a restricted area, the local store may no longer allow re-downloads of the app.
Basic checks you can try
Before concluding it is a regional restriction, you can:
- Confirm you are logged into the same app store account you used before
- Update your operating system and App Store / Google Play to the latest version
- Restart your phone and search for “Plaud” again
If, after these steps, you still:
- Cannot find the app in search, or
- See “Not available in your region”
then it is very likely due to compliance / regional policy restrictions, rather than a simple technical error.
When can I re-download Plaud?
Like download restrictions for new users, this “unable to re-download” situation usually comes from:
- Laws and sanctions regulations
- Upstream service provider policies
- Compliance requirements from partners/app stores
It is not a short-term service outage.
If relevant regulations or policies change in the future, Plaud will re-evaluate whether to restore app availability in certain regions.
At this time, we:
- Cannot promise when re-downloads will be available again
- Cannot give an exact date for any specific country/region or individual account
