Plaud currently doesn’t support bilingual/multilingual transcription. Plaud provides the most accurate results when the transcription language matches the language spoken in the recording.
Why multilingual transcription isn’t supported yet
Multilingual transcription (especially when the recording language and the desired transcript language don’t match) is harder to keep consistently precise. It often requires large amounts of real-world training data and continuous optimization. At this stage, mismatched languages can lead to issues such as mistranslations, missing content, or inconsistent phrasing—reducing overall transcript quality.
What Plaud supports today
- Same-language transcription: Plaud transcribes audio in the same language as the recording to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Mixed-language recordings: If multiple languages are spoken in one recording, results may vary and some parts may be less accurate.
Tips for best results
- Keep languages consistent: Choose the transcription language that matches the language spoken in the audio.
- Split mixed-language audio: If your recording contains multiple languages, consider splitting it into separate single-language clips and transcribing each clip in its corresponding language.
- Improve audio quality: Clear speech and minimal background noise will improve transcription accuracy.
