We understand how stressful it can be to accidentally lose important recordings or notes. For security and compliance, some actions trigger permanent deletion. After permanent deletion is completed, the data is removed from our storage systems and cannot be restored.
What “permanently deleted” means
A file is recoverable only if it still exists in at least one place we can access (for example, Trash or a completed cloud backup).
A file is unrecoverable once it is permanently deleted (removed from Trash or never uploaded/backed up).
When your data becomes unrecoverable
1) You permanently delete something from Trash
- If you delete a file again from Trash/Recycle Bin, it is permanently deleted immediately and cannot be recovered.
2) You delete your account
- After you confirm account deletion, all personal data linked to the account will be permanently removed (including cloud recordings).
- Once the deletion process is completed, it is irreversible. To use the app again, you must register a new account.
3) You delete cloud data manually
- If you manually delete files stored in the cloud, we do not retain copies. The deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
4) Cloud sync is OFF (no cloud backup)
If cloud sync is turned off, data that is deleted from your device is typically unrecoverable, including these cases:
- You delete items locally by mistake.
- You uninstall the app and reinstall it later.
- You sign in on a new device without having enabled cloud sync.
Note: Some features or settings may be labeled differently depending on your app version (for example, “Cloud Sync” or “PCS”). If you’re not sure what you have enabled, contact support.
5) You unpair a device before files finish uploading
- If you unpair a device while some files have not fully uploaded, those files may be wiped from the device during unpairing and become unrecoverable.
6) Region-related access limitations
- Different regions may operate independently due to privacy requirements and infrastructure. If you do not migrate your data, files stored in another region may become inaccessible to your current region/account setup.
- Inaccessible does not always mean deleted, but support may be limited depending on regional policies.
How to reduce the risk of permanent loss
- Keep cloud sync enabled to maintain a secure backup.
- Before deleting your account, unpairing a device, or uninstalling/updating the app, confirm important files are fully uploaded and backed up.
- When deleting files, double-check whether you are moving them to Trash or permanently deleting them.
