Can I use a magnetic ring while wirelessly charging my device?
It depends on where the magnetic ring is attached:
- If the magnetic ring is attached directly to your phone's surface: We strongly recommend not using wireless charging for safety reasons. Instead, please use a wired (cable) charger to power your device.
- If the magnetic ring is attached to a phone case: Please remove the phone case first, then place your device on the wireless charger.
Why should I adjust how I charge when using a magnetic ring?
Wireless charging relies on electromagnetic induction. Magnetic or metallic accessories can disrupt this process and generate extra heat. The appropriate action depends on where the magnetic ring is attached:
- Magnetic ring on phone surface: The ring is in direct contact with the charging coil area, which can cause significant interference and unsafe heat buildup. For this reason, we recommend switching to wired (cable) charging entirely.
- Magnetic ring on phone case: The ring is not directly on the device, so removing the case before wireless charging is sufficient to ensure safe and efficient charging.
Tip: Always identify where the magnetic ring is attached before choosing your charging method.
What happens if I don't follow these guidelines?
- Magnetic ring on phone surface + wireless charging: This poses a safety risk. The magnetic material can significantly interfere with electromagnetic induction, causing excessive heat buildup in both the device and the ring. We strongly advise switching to wired charging in this case.
- Magnetic ring on phone case + wireless charging (without removing case): Charging efficiency may be reduced and the device may run warmer than usual. Always remove the case before wirelessly charging to ensure safe and optimal performance.
