Do I need a paid subscription to start using Plaud?
Every Plaud device includes the Starter Plan at no extra cost. This gives you 300 transcription minutes each month from day one, so you can start capturing, transcribing, and summarizing conversations the moment you open the box with no subscription required.

What does my Plaud subscription include?
Your Plaud subscription gives you access to Plaud Intelligence — a complete workflow layer built on top of the recorder:

What's the difference between the Pro Plan and Unlimited Plan?
Both plans include the full Plaud Intelligence feature set. The core difference is transcription capacity:
- Pro Plan — 1,200 minutes (20 hours) per month. For professionals with regular meetings and calls throughout the week.
- Unlimited Plan — up to 24 hours per day. For users whose work depends heavily on conversations: doctors, lawyers, journalists, sales professionals, and others in high-volume recording workflows.
A simple way to decide: If your monthly recording volume exceeds 20 hours, upgrading to the Unlimited Plan is the most cost-effective choice.
Does Plaud offer a plan for teams or organizations?
Yes. Plaud Team is a dedicated plan for teams that need shared AI-powered recording workflows with centralized management.
- Centralized management. Admins can manage seats, billing, and devices for the team.
- Access all features. Every seat up to 24 hours of daily transcription, Plaud Intelligence, and access to the newest AI models.
- Separate team workspace. Securely share files in a shared team workspace while maintaining personal privacy. Each recording remains strictly private unless explicitly shared.
Should I choose monthly or annual billing?
Choosing annual billing offers significant savings compared to monthly billing:
- Pro Plan: $8.33/month on annual billing vs. $17.99 billed monthly (54% in savings).
- Unlimited Plan: $20.00/month on annual billing vs. $29.99 billed monthly (33% in savings).

Can I still record if I run out of transcription minutes?
Yes. Only transcription pauses. Your recordings and all other features keep working normally. You can still:
- Record audio normally
- Play back existing recordings
- Manage files and use Private Cloud Sync
Transcription resumes automatically when your minutes reset at the start of your next billing cycle, or as soon as you add more minutes.
Does unused transcription time roll over to the next month?
No. Transcription minutes reset at the start of each billing month and unused minutes do not carry over. This applies across all plans: 300 minutes on Starter, 1,200 minutes on Pro, and up to 24 hours per day on Unlimited and Team.
If you regularly run out before the month ends, you can upgrade your plan or purchase a one-time Extra Minutes top-up (available in 600, 3,000, or 6,000-minute packages) without changing your current plan.
How can I upgrade or downgrade my subscription?
For Individual Plans: Plan changes can be made through the Plaud App or Plaud Web. If you purchased through the App Store or Google Play, plan changes must be made through the same channel — subscriptions across different purchase platforms cannot be transferred or converted. Upgrades take effect immediately, with the remaining value of your current plan prorated according to your purchase platform. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
For Plaud Team: Seat and billing changes are managed by the team admin through the admin console. Plaud Team cannot be upgraded from or converted to an individual subscription. Adding seats takes effect immediately; removing seats takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

How do I cancel, and what is the refund policy?
Cancellation. You can cancel at any time. Your service stays active until the end of your current billing period, and you will not be charged again after cancellation. The process depends on where you originally purchased:
- App Store (iOS): Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Plaud → Cancel Subscription
- Google Play: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Plaud → Cancel
- Plaud Web: Visit Stripe → Sign in with the email you used for purchase, and complete verification → Open "My Subscriptions" or "Billing" → Select "Cancel Subscription"
- Plaud.ai Store: Log in → My Account → Manage Subscription → Cancel
- Plaud Team: Only the team admin can cancel. Go to Admin Settings → Billing & Plan → Cancel subscription. All Members retain access until the end of the current billing period.
Refunds. To request a refund, contact our after-sales support team at support@plaud.ai. Our team will review your request based on our current refund policy. For subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store, refunds are processed directly by Apple — please contact Apple Support.
What happens to my recordings if I cancel?
For paid individual plans (Pro/Unlimited), your recordings and transcriptions are not deleted when you cancel. After your subscription ends, your account reverts to the Starter Plan — you can still access all your existing recordings and transcriptions.
For Plaud Team, your workspace and existing files will continue to be accessible after your subscription ends.
