An Admin is the highest-permission role in a Plaud Team workspace responsible for managing the workspace at both the operational and billing level. A workspace can have more than one Admin.
What can an Admin not do?
- Access individual Members' content — all content in the Team workspace is private to its creator by default, unless explicitly shared via invite
- Move content across workspace boundaries — all content stays within the workspace it was created in
Who becomes an Admin?
The first Admin is the person who creates the workspace and completes the initial purchase. After that, any Admin can promote other Members to Admin, or assign the Admin role to new Members at invitation time.
The workspace must always have at least one Admin. The last remaining Admin cannot remove their own Admin role or leave the workspace until another Admin is assigned.
What does Workspace management include?
Admins manage the Team workspace through Settings → Workspace management on Plaud Web. It includes:
- General — update workspace name and other basic settings
- Members & roles — invite, remove, and manage Member roles
- Billing & plan — manage subscriptions, seats, and payment methods
- Devices — view all Plaud devices bound to the workspace
-
Privacy & security — view workspace privacy and security information
FAQ about Admin
Who becomes the first Admin?
The person who creates the workspace and completes the initial purchase is automatically assigned the Admin role. After that, any Admin can invite new Members with the Admin role assigned, or promote existing Members to Admin.
Can I transfer the Admin role to someone else?
Yes. An Admin can promote another Member to Admin at any time from Settings → Workspace management → Members & roles on Plaud Web. If you want to fully step down, promote another Member to Admin first, then change your own role back to Member. Note: this demotion cannot be undone once you step down — you would need another Admin to promote you back to Admin.
Can the last Admin leave the workspace?
No. The workspace must always have at least one Admin. The last remaining Admin cannot remove their own Admin role or leave the workspace until another Admin is assigned.
Can Admins view Members' personal content?
No. Admins cannot access individual Members' content — all content in the Team workspace is private to its creator by default, unless explicitly shared via invite. Admin governance covers membership, devices, billing, and workspace settings — not individual Member content.
Can Admins manage the workspace from a mobile browser?
No. Workspace management is only available on Plaud Web (desktop). The Plaud App does not support Workspace management. From a mobile browser, only Member invitations are supported — see Who can join my workspace? for details.
