Should your organization's Plaud Team subscription expire or be cancelled, your Team workspace will switch to a read-only mode and Team features will pause. You do not need to worry about your own files. Your Personal workspace and private content will remain completely untouched and fully accessible.<br>
What happens to me when the Team plan expires?
When the Team subscription expires (after the grace period ends without a successful payment), the following changes take effect:
Your access
- Your Team workspace enters read-only mode so you can still view existing recordings, transcriptions, and notes, but you cannot create, edit, or upload new content
- You can no longer use AI features (summarization, Mind Maps, etc.) within the Team workspace
Your device
- Your device and existing recordings synced to the Team workspace are not affected by the subscription state — existing recordings remain viewable in read-only mode.
- Your device binding stays in place — your Plaud device is not automatically unbound from the workspace.
- ⚠️ New recordings can still sync to the Team workspace, but transcription and AI processing are paused while the workspace is in read-only mode. Audio recorded during this period stays as raw files until the workspace is restored. To have new recordings transcribed in the meantime, unbind your device from the Team workspace and re-bind it to your Personal workspace in the Plaud App before recording.
Your content
- Your content in the Team workspace is preserved in read-only mode. You can view existing recordings and notes but cannot create, edit, or upload new content
- Personal workspace content is completely unaffected. Your Personal workspace operates independently of the Team subscription.
What is the grace period before expiry?
When a payment fails, the workspace follows this timeline:
- Day 0 — Payment fails. The workspace enters a 7-day grace period and continues to function normally while your Admin updates the payment method.
- Day 7 — Unpaid / Suspended. The grace period ends without a successful payment. The workspace becomes read-only while Stripe makes a final retry attempt.
- Day 14 — Expired. Member benefits expire (downgrade to User identity); the Team workspace remains in read-only mode.
If your Admin notifies you that the subscription is at risk of expiring, save or export any time-sensitive content you may need to keep accessing.
Can the workspace be restored after expiry?
Yes. Your Admin can re-subscribe to restore the workspace even after it enters read-only mode. Once the Admin completes a new payment:
- Full workspace benefits are restored immediately
- Your access to the Team workspace is reactivated
What should I do as a Member?
- Contact your Admin. Only Admins can manage billing and re-subscribe. If you are experiencing access issues, reach out to your Admin first.
- Check your Personal workspace. If you had content only in the Team workspace and need continued access, ask your Admin about the subscription status.
- Need to keep using your device? Contact your Admin or submit a request to discuss your options during this period.
FAQ about Team plan expiry
Will I lose my recordings when the plan expires?
No. Existing recordings, transcriptions, and notes in the Team workspace are preserved in read-only mode — you can still view them. You just can't create, edit, or upload new content until the Admin re-subscribes.
Can I continue recording with my Plaud device during read-only mode?
Your device is unaffected by the workspace subscription state. For questions about device behavior during this period, please submit a request to our support team.
If the Admin re-subscribes later, do I automatically get my Team access back?
Yes. Once the Admin completes a successful payment, your Member role and Team-plan features are reactivated immediately.
