Plaud AI reads the timestamp embedded in your recording file to determine when the recording was made. This timestamp is set by your Plaud device's built-in clock at the moment the recording starts.
How does Plaud AI use the recording timestamp?
When Plaud AI processes a recording (generating transcripts, summaries, or responding to questions in Ask Plaud), it references the recording timestamp to provide time-aware context. For example, it may include the recording date in a summary header or use it when you ask questions like "What did I discuss on Monday?"
What if my recording timestamp is wrong?
If your Plaud device's clock was not correctly synced before you started recording, the timestamp embedded in the file will be inaccurate, and Plaud AI will reference that inaccurate time when processing the recording.
For how to prevent and fix incorrect timestamps, see Why is the timestamp of my recording incorrect?.
