This article explains what Plaud Embedded is, who it's for, and how it differs from Plaud MCP and Plaud CLI. Read this first if you're not sure which option fits your situation.
What is Plaud Embedded?
Plaud Embedded is a developer platform for software companies. It lets a company integrate Plaud devices and Plaud's transcription models into its own application, so its users can capture in-person conversations without ever opening the Plaud App.
A company that builds on Plaud Embedded owns the product experience end to end. Its users record on a Plaud device, the recordings sync into that company's app, and Plaud returns the transcripts behind the scenes.
Plaud Embedded is for teams shipping a product to their own customers. It isn't a way to get at your own Plaud recordings.
Is Plaud Embedded the same as Plaud MCP or Plaud CLI?
No. They solve opposite problems, and this is the most common mix-up.
Plaud MCP and Plaud CLI connect your own Plaud account to your own tools. You sign in with your existing Plaud account, and an AI assistant or terminal can then read your recordings, transcripts, and summaries. Nothing is built for anyone else.
Plaud Embedded is what a software company uses to put Plaud capture inside a product it sells to its customers. It requires a mobile app, developer credentials, and engineering work.

I just want to connect my Plaud account to another tool. What should I use?
Use Plaud MCP or Plaud CLI. Neither requires an API key or a waiting list, and both sign in with your existing Plaud account.

Which devices work with Plaud Embedded?
Plaud Note Pro and Plaud NotePin S.
These are the same devices sold to consumers. There is no separate developer edition.
Can one device work with two apps at the same time?
No. A Plaud device binds to one account at a time, and that rule applies whether the account is a Plaud account or an account in an app built on Plaud Embedded.
To move a device to a different app, or back to the Plaud App, unbind it from the current app first.
I use an app built on Plaud Embedded. Who do I contact for help?
Contact the company that makes the app you're using. That company owns your account, your data, and your subscription, so it handles support for everything you see in its product.
If you can't reach that company, or the app was removed before the device was unbound, email support@plaud.ai with your device serial number and the name of the app. Our team can help you release the device.
I'm a developer. Where do I start?
Start with the documentation at docs.plaud.ai, which covers the SDK, the Transcription API, device binding, and pricing.
To request access and receive your credentials, fill out the form at dev.plaud.ai. Once your request is reviewed, you'll get access to the developer console.
Plaud Embedded is available in the United States today.
