Overview
Upgrading to a new Plaud device, such as moving from Plaud Note to Plaud Note Pro, doesn't affect your files. This article explains what stays, what to do before you switch, and how to set up the new device.
Will I lose my files if I switch to a new device?
No. Your recordings, transcripts, and summaries are stored in your Plaud account, not on the device. Everything already transferred to the Plaud App stays available after you switch, and your membership also follows your account, so there's nothing to repurchase.
What should I do before switching?
Transfer any recordings still on your old device to the Plaud App first, and confirm they appear in the app. Recordings are deleted from the device after transfer, so once they're in the app, they're safe in your account.
How do I set up the new device?
Bind the new device to the same Plaud account. One account can have multiple devices bound at the same time, so you can keep using the old device alongside the new one, or unbind it later. See Bind the Device for the steps.
