Symptoms
- Signing up or logging in shows a message that your email is already linked to another sign-in method.
- You try to log in with email and password, but the account was created with Google or Apple, or the other way around.
Steps
- Log in with the method you originally registered with
This message isn't an error with your account. It means this email address already has a Plaud account created with a different sign-in method. A Plaud account is tied to the method used at sign-up: email and password, Google, or Apple. Try each method you may have used, starting with Google or Apple if you're on the matching device.
- Not sure which email or method you used?
See How to find the email address used for my Plaud account? to identify the email behind your account, including the Google and Apple checks.
- Forgot the password for your email login?
Reset it from the login screen. See Forgotten login password for the steps.
- Want to switch to a different sign-in method?
After logging in, go to Settings > Account > Sign-in methods in the Plaud App. If you registered with email and password, you can add Google or Apple. If you registered with Google or Apple, you can't add email and password afterward, and at least one sign-in method must stay active.
