Plaud One's built-in eSIM sets itself up. Use the eSIM settings when you want to check the connection or turn on airplane mode.
What is the eSIM on Plaud One?
The charging case has a built-in eSIM that powers its 4G connection. There's nothing to configure: the eSIM activates itself, picks a local carrier automatically, and includes data. Recordings upload to the cloud over this connection as you record.
How to use the eSIM settings?
Open the Plaud Mobile App, go to your Plaud One's settings, and tap eSIM under General. The entry shows the eSIM's connection status, and the eSIM screen shows the 4G network status.
- Airplane mode: the toggle on the eSIM screen. Turn it on to switch off the 4G connection. While it's on, the 4G network status shows Off with a reminder to turn airplane mode off to use the 4G network.
What happens with airplane mode on?
With 4G off, recording keeps working. Recordings save locally on the case and upload once you turn airplane mode off, or you can connect Plaud One to the Plaud Mobile App and upload through your phone. Firmware updates are delivered over 4G, so new updates can't download while airplane mode is on. Turn airplane mode off to receive them.
FAQ about the eSIM
Do I need a SIM card or a data plan?
No. The eSIM is built in and includes data. There's no physical SIM slot. 4G LTE access is included with Plaud One Limited Explorer Edition, so you don't buy a separate data plan or top up. 4G LTE availability may vary by region and carrier coverage. When should I use airplane mode?
Use it on flights, anywhere you want the device offline, and when you want longer battery life, since turning off 4G extends the case's runtime. Keep in mind that with airplane mode on, recordings can't upload automatically from the device; they save on the case and upload through the Plaud Mobile App on your phone, or after you turn airplane mode off.
