Flash Memo captures a thought the moment you say you want it kept. Think out loud, and the note writes itself.
Flash Memo is one of Plaud's official skills. For what the others do, and how official skills work in general, see Official skills: what ships with Plaud Agent.
What is Flash Memo?
Flash Memo is an official Plaud Agent skill for instant note capture. Speak or type what's on your mind and signal you want it kept ("jot this down," "take a note," "capture this"), and Flash Memo cleans up what you said and files it under a name you'll recognize. It's made for catching an idea before it slips: driving, walking, mid-meeting, or just waking up. It works just as well for a single stray thought as for a rattled-off list of five errands.
Flash Memo is not a recording. No audio is captured, no transcript is produced, and nothing goes through the recording pipeline. The only thing saved is the text note.
How to invoke it?
- By voice on your device: press the Agent button (not the record key) and tell the Agent to note it down. Devices with only a record key don't support Flash Memo.
- Naturally, in the app: speak or type to the Agent and ask it to note something down; it invokes Flash Memo automatically.
- By name: type / in the Agent chat and pick Flash Memo.
How it works
- Tell the Agent your thought and let it know you want it kept, in a chat or by voice.
- Flash Memo clears out the filler and false starts while keeping your exact words and meaning. It tidies, it never rewrites; the note still sounds like you.
- Said several unrelated things in one go? It keeps them apart in their own paragraphs so each note stays readable.
- The note is saved to your Flash Memo folder under a clear name.
When does it save, and when not?
Flash Memo saves only when you ask it to. Ordinary conversation with the Agent isn't captured, and the Agent's own replies are never saved as memos; only what you say to keep.
Where do the notes live?
Every note lands as a file in the Flash Memo folder in your library, created automatically the first time you use it, and synced across the Mobile App, Web, and Desktop like any other file. Open and edit it anytime, move it to another folder, or use it as context for a later Agent task.
FAQ about Flash Memo
Does Flash Memo rewrite my words?
No. It removes filler and false starts but keeps your exact words and meaning. It will never reword a sentence just to make it read better.
Can I turn a memo into something bigger later?
Yes. A memo is a normal file: add it as context in an Agent task, or ask the Agent to expand it into a document.
Does using Flash Memo cost anything?
It runs as an Agent task, measured in Plaud Credits like any other Agent work.
